Chat with multiple PDFs at once
Real questions often span several files, and you can ask one question across several PDFs: which offer has the longest notice period, which report mentions a supplier, how two studies differ. Put the PDFs in one folder of your library, open the folder and ask once. Each answer cites the document and the page, and a click opens that page beside the chat. Multi-PDF chat is available on Plus and Pro.
How it works
Put your PDFs in a folder
Upload the files into one folder of your library, for example the offers you are comparing or the papers for one review, and wait until they show as ready.
Ask all PDFs in the folder
Open the folder and choose “Ask all PDFs in this folder”. Ask about one topic, such as how each document handles it. Answers draw on the most relevant passages across the folder's documents, not every page.
Check the document and page
Every answer carries chips that name the file and the page, such as Offer B.pdf p. 4. Click one and that document opens beside the chat at that page.
Questions to ask
- Compare what each document says about payment terms.
- Which of these files discuss renewal?
- How do the reports describe the main risks?
- How does each paper collect its data?
- What does each agreement say about ending it early?
An example
Offer A asks for 60 days' written notice before the end of the term (Offer A.pdf p. 3). Offer B allows ending early with 30 days' notice (Offer B.pdf p. 4). The passages found in Offer C don't cover early termination, so check its termination section.p. 4

Questions and answers
- Who can use Multi-PDF chat?
- It is part of the Plus and Pro plans. On the Free plan you can still chat with each PDF on its own.
- Does it read every page of every document?
- No. It takes the most relevant passages across the folder's documents, so it suits questions about a topic and finding which file says what. It searches up to 30 of the folder's most recently updated ready documents. For a complete list or a full summary, open the single document and read the cited pages.
- Does a folder question cost more?
- No. It counts like any other question, whatever the number of documents in the folder.
- Can I open the source of an answer?
- Yes. Each chip names the document and the page, and clicking it opens that document beside the chat at that page.
